ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
Bambam: MDF team comprised of Program officer, communication officer, finance officer and Suleiman Sarki, a MDF volunteer visited Biu for the launch campaign on 22nd February 2023,.        The team were received by the community focal who led us to the palace of HRH, Folo Dadiya, the venue of the event. The team led by the voice program officer gave an overview of MDF and Oxfam Voice and stated the intervention’s approach in fighting Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). He urged all community members to support the fight against any form of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Bambam.       HRH, Folo Dadiya was ably represented by Wazirin Bambam who expressed concern over the rate of rape, and domestic violence in the community. He urged everyone to join hands with the team to achieve maximum success.        The Waziri also launched the campaign open and signed the commitment card along with other community stakeholders.        Key stakeholders that include the Chief Imam Bambam, Pastor, youth leader, women leader and market women leader spoke on the need for the voice project. They all said the project is timely and expressed their commitment to support the fight against any form of GBV in Bambam.        Wazirin Bambam launched the T-shirts, caps, and Hijabs for distribution to key stakeholders and rightholders. A total of 45 voice branded T-shirts, 45 voice branded caps and 40 voice branded hijabs were distributed to rightholders in Bambam. Cultural troupe entertained guest outside the venue as it is prohibited to dance and beat drums within the premises of the palace.       Refreshments (145 doughnuts and 145 soft drinks ) were distributed to rightholders present. A total of 145 rightholders were in attendance.        Rightholders expressed joy and commitment to ending VAWG in Bambam. A group photograph was taken at the end of the event.
Kuri: On 5th March, 2023, the program officer, communication officer, finance officer and Suleiman Sarki visited Kuri to launch the voice project. The team were received by the community focal person who led the team to the palace of HRH, the District Head of Kuri, venue for the event. The Wakilin  Kuri represented the senior district head. The campaign was launched and the distribution of T-shirts, caps and Hijabs to rightholders had commenced before a group of thugs carted away the bag containing the remaining items. The situation was however controlled with the deployment of police men to the venue. A total of 45 voice branded T-shirts, 45 voice branded caps and 50 voice branded hijabs were taken to Kuri to be distributed to rightholders. Though much had been distributed to key stakeholders before the incident. There were a total of 162 rightholders present.        The 110 refreshment were distributed to rightholders present. A total of 8 commitment card were signed by community stakeholders    BoJude:  The voice campaign was launched at the district head of Bojudes’ palace on 17th Feb, 2023.  The voice program officer gave an overview of the MDF – Oxfam – Voice project. District Head welcomed the team and also commit to support the project succeed in Jude. HRH urged all stakeholders present to support the eliminating Violence Against Women and Girls in Jude. A total of 45 voice branded T-shirts, 45 voice branded caps and 50 voice branded hijabs  were launched by HRH and distributed by voice program officer to rightholders.      Gajimare  cultural troupes entertained guests. A total 156 participants were present  at the launch campaign.       Refreshment were shared to all participants present. 
Biu: Campaing launch in Biu took place on 9th March, 2023 at the central primary school Biu. Rightholders/stakeholders present include; The representative of the Emirate council, 2 District Heads, 4 Village heads, junior and senior secondary school principals, pastors and imams, youth representatives, Women led groups, peer mentors, PWD leader, Gender desk Officers of; the Nigerian Police, NSCDC and Family Support Centre.        The voice program officer gave an overview of the voice project and called on all rightholders/stakeholders to support the fight against all forms of violence Against Women and Girls. The representative of the emirate council launched the campaign in Biu and expressed the emirates resolve to the fight against all forms of Violence Against Women and Girls in Biu emirate council. A total of 45 voice branded T-shirts, 45 voice branded caps and 50 voice branded hijabs were distributed to rightholders. There were a total of 136 community stakeholders present at the launch campaign
SUCCESS
The Voice project “Yaki Da Cin Zarafin Mata was launched successfully in Bambam, Biu, and Jude. Though there was a little interruption from thugs who carted away some of the branded items, the launch campaign was concluded in Kuri as well 40 Community stakeholders signed the commitment cards, a confirmation of their support to the end VAWG in their respective communities A total of 599 rightholders/stakeholders attended the launch campaign across the 4 implementing communities
CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED
The project team were attacked in Kuri while distributing T-Shirts, Caps and HijabsSome invited stakeholders requested stipend due distance to the venue of the launch
LESSONS LEARNED
Work with security agency in each implementing location to curtail disruption of activity Liaising with community right holders to choose convenient date and time guarantees positive outcome of activities
RECOMMENDATION
Take into cognizance the peculiarity of cultural beliefs in each community in the program design Strict adherence to the Do No Harm Policy during project implementation Community right holders should lead the launch activity. This will make them take ownership of the project and feel carried along

A total of 40 commitment card were signed by traditional leaders and other relevant stakeholders across the 4 communities
